Jeffrey Markello is the managing partner of Sakowski & Markello, LLP, in Elma, NY where he has practiced law since 1991.  After graduating from the University of Rochester and SUNY Buffalo School of Law, Jeff was admitted to practice in both New York State and Massachusetts.

Sakowski & Markello, LLP offers a general practice of law including residential and commercial real estate, wills and estates, criminal, civil, personal injury, and matrimonial litigation.  Jeff is formally trained in mediation and collaborative law, and his family law practice involves all parties in both Supreme and Family Courts. 

Often appointed Law Guardian to represent children of families in crisis, Jeff has often winessed the consequences suffered by young children whose parents get embroiled in "winning at all costs" when fiercely litigating a case.  He stands convinced that the collaborative model is the most productive way to rearrange family relationships while maintaining a level of mutual respect.    

Professionally, Jeff participates in the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (www.collaborativepractice.com), Matrimonial and Family Court committees of the Erie County Bar Association, Fourth Department Law Guardian Panel, Western New York Town Prosecutors Association, Supreme Court Part 36 appointments, New York State’s Bar Association and Defender's Association, Erie County Bar Association’s  Aid to Indigent Prisoners Society and Volunteer Lawyers Project.

In his community, Jeff was elected to 3 terms on the East Aurora Board of Education before stepping aside to serve as Town Prosecutor in the Towns of Aurora and Sardinia, as well as Deputy Town Attorney in Aurora and counsel to its Planning and Conservation Board.  Jeff is also President of the East Aurora Rotary Club and serves on several Boards including the Suburban Adult Services Foundation, East Aurora Rotary Foundation, and Western New York Collaborative Law Professionals.  He and his wife are raising their children in East Aurora, NY.
