SUSAN S. HOGAN
Practicing attorney in Buffalo/Western NY since February, 1978. Worked in three law firms before opening a practice in the southtowns in 1989. Graduate of LeMoyne College Syracuse, NY (1974) and graduate of SUNY Buffalo Law School (1977).
Since opening my own law firm in 1989 my practice has been approximately 70% matrimonial and family Law. Earlier in my career, I had experience in a general practice always with a family law concentration.
The focus of my practice is to emphasize the need for negotiation and positive interaction leading to mutual agreement rather than litigation. To this end I have completed professional mediation training and since 1996 I have acted as a private mediator in a number of matrimonial and family matters, including both complete divorce mediation and mediation of individual issues.
I also have a 10+ year history of law guardian assignments, which have enabled me to represent children’s interests in family divorce matters.
I am the mother of four children and have significant experience personally and professionally with seeing the impact of the dissolution of marriages which can be difficult but need not be devastating. I feel strongly that parties and families are best served by negotiating, minimizing conflict, and maintaining a working relationship particularly where children are involved or individuals will have future contact because of mutual friends and or family relationships.
