LINDA CHODOS
Linda W. Chodos graduated Cum Laude from the SUNY at Buffalo Law School in 1993 and has been admitted to the New York State Bar and the Federal Courts. In addition to her Law Degree, Ms. Chodos holds a Master's degree in Business Administration, a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
She has received specialized training in divorce mediation and Collaborative Law. Her practice is limited to the constructive resolution of divorce, separation, family matters, employment problems and probate disputes through the use of Mediation and Collaborative Law. She is a contract mediator for employment disputes with the U. S. Postal Service and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
She has been featured in radio appearances on both commercial and public radio and has contributed articles on forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution to the Buffalo Law Journal and the Bar Association of Erie County’s monthly news publication and speaks to public and professional groups on these topics.
Ms. Chodos lectures extensively to
the general public and to various professional groups
on the subject of Mediation and Collaborative Law
as constructive alternatives to litigation. She
has taught mediation for Cornell University’s
School of Industrial and Labor Relations, taught
Interdisciplinary Collaborative Law, chaired the
Western New York Association of Divorce and Family
Mediators, co-chaired the Bar Association of Erie
County’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee,
and is founding President of Western New York Collaborative
Law Professionals, Ltd. She was honored for
her work in mediation in 2007 and 2008 in the Who’s
Who in Lawyers publication, and was featured in the
Buffalo Spree’s
special edition on Female-Owned businesses.
Prior to attending Law School, Ms. Chodos was the financial officer of a children's counseling center. During her 15 years of work as a mental health care professional, she worked in varying capacities within the health care system. She served as an administrator of a hospital out-patient program and as the coordinator of mental health staff development and training.
